Classroom Baskets

As part of Basket & Bingo, each class provides a themed basket which is raffled off at the event.

We are looking for volunteers to serve as “Classroom Basket Parents.” The role of the Classroom Basket Parent is to:

â—Ź Work with the classroom teacher to communicate the class theme to parents and solicit basket donations via email;
â—Ź Coordinate the collection of items for the basket;
● Assemble the donated items into a class basket (which doesn’t have to be a basket – it could be a box, laundry basket, flexible tub, or other creative item to hold everything together);* and
â—Ź Deliver the basket to Lake Braddock the afternoon of the event (other drop off options will be available).

*Does the idea of packaging all the items into an aesthetically pleasing basket cause you stress? No worries! We are recruiting a “Basket Beautifier” to help!

This is an easy and great way to help out the PTA and your child’s school – and it can be done in your free time. Please use this link to sign up to be a Classroom Basket Parent.

The themes for each class basket are listed next to the teacher’s name in the SignUp Genius. An Amazon Wish List has been created for each theme as a starting point for each classroom basket, for those that need some ideas. The lists are not exhaustive, and we encourage you to come up with your own ideas. Unfortunately, Amazon no longer allows adding items from other websites to its lists, but you are welcome to find items at any of your favorite stores or sites.

After signing up, you will receive more information about how to proceed, as well as a link to the
Amazon Wish List.
