Kings Park/Kings Glen PTA coordinates after-school and enrichment programs for our students. Most programs run for eight weeks, and meet once a week immediately after school. Different programs are offered during the fall, winter and spring.

STEM Excel – Minecraft Programming: Tuesdays 3:30-4:30, Cafeteria
Minecraft Programming teaches students important problem-solving and design skills by using command block and redstone to build spectacular projects with programming logic. This course is a great precursor to understand real circuitry, electronics and electrical theory. This course allows students to gain an understanding of how computers are processing commands as they move on to other computer science studies, and take home their Redstone creations at the end of the course. Coding fundamentals are reinforced by designing and implementing large-scale Minecraft elevators, roller coasters, and more!

Run Fit Kids: Tuesdays 3:30-4:30, Field
RunFit Kidz is designed to teach youths of all fitness levels about proper running mechanics, nutrition/hydration, pacing and goal setting. The class will include dynamic warm-ups, strengthening and speed drills, form, stretching and plenty of games. Our commitment is for children at all levels to run better, faster, and smarter and for the students to end the 7 or 8-week program with increased running knowledge and enhanced love for being active. The program concludes with a 5k run/walk that is held locally.

Girls On The Run (GOTR): Wednesdays AND Fridays 3:30-4:45, Outside
Girls on the Run inspires individuals of all abilities to discover, build, and grow their self-confidence. Together, they experience a sense of belonging and connection as a team. Volunteer coaches facilitate lessons that blend physical activity with life skill development, including managing emotions, fostering friendships, and expressing empathy. At the end of the season, the team completes a Community Impact Project and a 5K together, which provides a tangible sense of accomplishment and sets a confident mindset into motion.

Our hands-on camp will immerse your child into the enchanting realm of foam, slime, and potions, as we unravel the secrets of science. Prepare to concoct elixirs that magically change color, create your own bouncy balls, and whip up some homemade PopRocks that fizz in your mouth. Each experiment combines the perfect blend of creativity and scientific exploration. And while having a blast, you’ll uncover a wealth of scientific facts and theories, transforming learning into a bubbling cauldron of pure excitement!

Each day we will focus on a new fine art medium: pottery, painting, printmaking and sculpture. Learn how real artists create their portfolios with this diverse array of mediums and find your new favorite form of art! Class will culminate in an end of the year art show giving students a real taste of what life is like as a real artist. Ready to explore?

Magnus Chess: Fridays 3:30-4:30, Cafeteria
Learn chess with Magnus Academy, the five time world champion’s academy! We’ve taught 100,000 children to play including state & national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games. Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies.
Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments outside of club time, which may have an additional fee. All chess supplies provided. We welcome all grades and skill levels!
