Volunteering

There are many ways to be involved with your child’s education. You’re probably doing some of these things already. Maybe it’s calling the teacher to say “thank you” or to ask a question, or attending a parent or school board meeting.You’ll soon see the effects of your efforts—that’s because when parents get involved in their children’s education, everyone benefits. Below are some additional ways to be involved.

Join the PTA and get involved in a committee.
Become a classroom volunteer.
Participate in fundraisers.
Giant Foods: A+ BonusBucks Program
Become a reading mentor.
Volunteer in the Library.
Become a Cafeteria or Playground volunteer.
Check your child's BlackBoard site, backpack, Tuesday Folder and read everything carefully.
Attend Special Events at the school.
Build homework time into the daily routine and provide a quiet place for your child to study.
Talk to your child about his or her day.
Read to your child every day.

Volunteers needed for various committees of the PTA
