There are so many events, activities and necessary functions that occur at both Kings Park and Kings glen throughout the school year. All of them need people to plan, coordinate and staff them. Please read the lists below and the volunteer opportunites carefully and consider how and where you can fit into the life of your child’s school. Some of these activities require small but long term and consistent time commitments. Some of them are one day, single shift opportunities.

A few ways you can volunteer at the schools.

  • Donate refreshments/baked goods/food for the events and activities.
Time commitment: 5 minutes if you buy something or the length of your bake/prep time.
  • Work one of the Book Fairs.
Time commitment: one hour or any increment up to 15 hours over the course of the book fair week.
  • Translate documents into another language.
Time commitment: It could be an hour a week or a couple hours a month.
  • Offer to help with the school’s website.
Time commitment: depends on the site, it could be an hour a week or a couple hours a month.
(This is good for a parent who is not available during school hours.)
  • Help set up the Teacher Appreciation breakfast/event.
    Time commitment: a few hours.
  • Be your child’s classroom parent.
Time commitment: an hour every couple weeks.
(This is good for a parent with a flexible schedule.)
  • Become a board member of the PTA.
Time commitment: depending on the position, anywhere from an hour a week up to whatever your schedule allows.
  • Assist Silent Auction coordinator with donation letter production and in-person solicitation of area businesses and organizations.
    Time commitment: A few hours.
(This is good for a parent who is not available during school hours.)

If none of these ideas work for you, consider helping in the following ways.

  • Buy something at the Silent Auction.
  • Donate items or services to the Silent Auction.
  • If you have a business, please consider donating to your school for the Silent Auction and/or Teacher Appreciation, participating on our Discount Card, advertising in the Student Directory and/or sponsoring one of our PTA meetings.

Volunteers needed for various committees of the PTA

We have created several committees to take care of the various activities throughout the year. We are looking for some volunteers to help in those committees. If you are interested in volunteering in any committee, please email Mark Crabill at mark@mcrabill.com with your contact information.
